In that latest article in our Spybot series, we show you how to scan your computer for malware using Spybot Search and Destroy 2.9. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You’ve already installed Spybot<\/a>, set up Spybot<\/a>, got acquainted with the start centre<\/a>, and immunised your system<\/a> against a quarter of a million<\/strong> threats before they even happen! Well done :). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, we need to check whether we have any malware on our computer already. It’s easily picked up from websites, downloads and emails so it’s good to check and clear any infections. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, Spybot will also search for PUPs – nope, not cute dogs but potentially unwanted programs. These aren’t dangerous per-se but can be extremely annoying and have been reported by users to be annoying pieces of software even if they are legitimate. Software can be reported as a pup for a variety of different things but the usual reason is due to excessive advertisements or nag screens to upgrade. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
