Javascript is a powerful and flexible language. It’s no surprise then that many popular frameworks and libraries are JavaScript based – from React to Node, to Ember, to OpenUI5. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

jQuery<\/a> is a JavaScript library. So what’s the difference between a library and a framework? Essentially a JavaScript library offers additional functionality to the parent application that you implement or embed it into whereas a framework is an application – i.e. it has additional functionality that it uses itself. You can think of a framework as a self-contained application whereas a library is extending the functionality of your current platform. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
