Google’s Adsense program operates a revenue sharing scheme where copyright owners who submit their videos to YouTube gain a share of the profits from advertising shown next to their videos.
The group had uploaded videos to YouTube that they had created to gain publicity as well as fund their activities through profiting from the advertisements.
Google isn’t believed to have made a comment on the issue so far, however they have removed the offending videos from YouTube.
